Well to top off all the good bounty of new 1969 Beatles footage low and behold a grey market DVD/Blu-ray set entitled “Get Back: The Rooftop Concert” has also made its way to the world and does feature what would make a superb bonus disc to this new “Get Back” set. Interestingly, though, when comparing the file sizes of each disc, they are nearly identical between the two pressings. at its most active surrounds and overheads are scarcely in use, but the Atmos track does offer that sense of more total immersion that the LPCM 2. The excellent grain texture has been removed and rendered in such a way that it looks like it went through a digital carwash with no sense of detail. There are no fields of depth and the details in close-ups of facial features or textures in clothing are all absent.

We were all hoping the ‘Let It Be’ film would eventually be released on DVD but Apple surprised us all by turning it into something more than sumptuous.
